Insecurity: Fintiri Asks NISS To Assist Govt With Practical Solutions

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State Monday asked National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) to help Adamawa with practical solutions to ending insecurity.

The Governor made the appeal when he received in audience participants of local tour by Executive Intelligence Management (EIMC) Course 15 of the Institute in the Government House Yola.

He urged the team to give Adamawa a report that will address the remaining pockets of security breaches and shape its people on how to handle governance at all levels.

The Governor stressed that his administration has reduced the menace of insecurity to the bearrest minimum through the collaborative efforts of security, hunters and members of vigilante.

He described Adamawa as a unique state because of its conglomeration of about eighty seven diverse ethnic groups but maintained that his administration was able to manage it and ensured peace.

Earlier in her remarks, leader of the team, Mrs EE Oyeyele said Adamawa was chosen for the study tour because of its strategic importantance among states of the federation.

She added that the participants during their stay in Adamawa will interrogate effects of climate change, and the role of government in mitigating the problem as well as the act of good governance.

The team leader further said that at the end of the tour by the participants, a report will be drafted and submitted to the government for onward policy formulation.

The course 15 tour which has the duration of ten months in the country has the theme “the global climate challenge:, prospects and priorities for economic resolutions in Africa.

Highlight of the visit was presentation of the Governor’s portrait to Governor Fintiri by the team.
