In a remarkable show of generosity and commitment to his constituents, Hon. Musa Mahmud Kallamu, Member representing Mayo Belwa Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, has distributed food items and financial support worth over ₦7 million to alleviate hardship during Ramadan.
The relief effort, which benefited around 2,000 households and groups, was carried out in structured phases and included the distribution of essential food supplies such as bags of rice, sugar, cartons of spaghetti, and cash assistance. The distribution took place at Hon. Kallamu’s residence in Mayo Belwa, where beneficiaries received the items for onward distribution.

The relief package reached diverse groups, including Imams of 10 Jumu’at mosques, political groups, party loyalists, support associations, and vulnerable families across all five political wards in Mayo Belwa. During the first phase of the distribution, 40 bags of rice were shared, consisting of 35 bags of 50kg and 5 bags of 25kg. Beneficiaries included Imams, community groups, and trade unions such as the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), the Mechanic Union, and the Carpenters’ Association.
The second phase saw the distribution of 22 bags of rice, comprising 20 bags of 50kg and 2 bags of 25kg. Additionally, 2 bags of sugar were given out. This phase focused on beneficiaries such as the Education Intervention Committee, select communities, and individuals in need.
The final phase of the intervention involved the distribution of 40 bags of rice, consisting of 35 bags of 50kg and 5 bags of 25kg. Also, 5 bags of sugar and 6 cartons of spaghetti were provided. Additional allocations were extended to individuals in Yola, including 6 bags of rice and 2 bags of sugar.
In total, 102 bags of rice were distributed, including 90 bags of 50kg and 12 bags of 25kg. The relief package also comprised 7 bags of sugar and 6 cartons of spaghetti.
