The Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has launched the Taraba Education Student Identification System (TESIS), aimed at facilitating access to quality education for every child in the State.
The occasion took place at the Nyamusala Secondary School in Jalingo.
Speaking at the event, Governor Kefas reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming the education sector in the state to benefit future generations.
Noting the critical role of teachers in education, the Governor affirmed that they will also be enrolled in the TESIS initiative, given their insights and dedication to ensuring high standards of learning.
Governor Agbu Kefas further revealed that the government will foster collaboration and establish a sustainable framework for educational excellence in the state.
Dr. Augustina Godwin, the Commissioner of Education, stated that the digital enrolment of students, pupils, and teachers is necessary to enable the government to allocate resources and plan adequately for the education sector.
According to her, since the commencement of the free and compulsory education policy of Governor Agbu Kefas, public school enrolment has increased tremendously.
Dr. Godwin noted that the gains of the TESIS program are substantial and will include the enhancement of e-learning opportunities which if fully implemented, Taraba State will be among the country’s top three states to have implemented e-learning.
She called on principals and teachers to support the program and ensure its success.
Mrs. Uchenna Eshareturi, the Project Consultant for Zip TESIS, assures that Zip Warehousing Limited will provide a system that will aid the education of the students.
Some students of the school in an interview expressed appreciation to the Governor for his significant investment in the education sector and assured their commitment to learning.
