Higgi Kamwe Turbans Daniel Zira Dan Michika As Waziri, 6 Others In Taraba

The turbaning ceremony of Seven personalities as title holders into the Higgi Kamwe traditional council in Taraba has been described as a manifestation of unity and cohesion amongst Michika people residing in Taraba state.

The Sintalin Muri, Sa’ad Usman asserted at the turbaning ceremony held over the weekend at the palace of the Wakilin Higgi Kamwe, Jacob Tizhe Bulama at Mile jalingo.

Sa’ad Usman, who described the Michika people as highly enterprising, charged them to continue to unite for the benefit of their people and Taraba state.

He assured them of the continued support from the Muri Emirate Council and commended the Wakilin Michika for selecting men and women of substance and appointing them to his cabinet.

“We inherited the Traditional title and it is all about loyalty and commitment to the service of the people. Therefore, I implore you to be loyal and supportive of Higgi Kamwe. Whenever you are called upon avail yourself because of the confidence reposed on you.” Sintali emphasized.

Earlier, the Wakilin Higgi Kamwe, Jacob Tizhe Bulama said Taraba had been a second home to all members of Higgi Kamwe extraction, adding that they will continue to be law-abiding and loyal to the constituted authority.

He said that his forty-five years stay in jalingo has made him an indigene, arguing that he has no other state than Taraba and called on his subjects to support him to succeed.

In his remarks, the Kru Kona Augustine Venkani advised the appointees to use their titles to further integrate the Michika ethnic group for progress, noting that Michika people have already become Konawa because they are married to their daughters.

Kru Kona, who was represented by the Kaigaman Kona, John Sunu, equally asked parents to monitor closely the activities of their children to make them useful members of society.

Responding on behalf of the newly turbaned traditional title holders, the new Wazirin Michika in Taraba State, Daniel Zira Dan Michika thanked the Wakilin Higgi Kamwe for considering them worthy of their respective titles and pledged to contribute to the development of the Higgi traditional council, the state and the country at large.

Daniel Zira also thanked Sintalin Muri Alhaji Sa’ad Usman for his persistent support and advice to the Michika nation in the state.

The newly turbaned title holders are Daniel Zira Dan Michika as the Waziri, David Zira Jarumi, Richard Zira, Sarkin Fada and John Baba Sarkin Yaki.

Others are Emmanuel Zira Savannah as the Garkuwa, Zira Fere Jesse as Sarkin Ayyuka, while Doctor Fatima Tumba was turbaned as the Sarauniyar Higgi.

Highlights of the ceremony included the traditional dances and the presentation of appointment letters to the title holders.
