The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has commissioned 38 Pentacyclic Ambulances.
The event took place in Jalingo, with the state Deputy Governor representing the Governor.
handed them over to the Chairmen of the 16 Local Government Areas for use.
This is the first batch of ambulances out of the 168 that arrived in Jalingo.
Governor Kefas aims to improve the lives of people in Taraba, especially in the rural areas.
The ambulances will help manage emergency cases, particularly during childbirth and healthcare delivery.
The Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, emphasized that health is a top priority of the current administration.
He also stated that local government leaders will be held accountable for any misuse of the ambulances.
Dr. Bordiya Buma, the Taraba State Commissioner for Health, highlighted ongoing health projects, including the Rehabilitation Center at the State Specialist Hospital in Jalingo and a temporary site for the National Orthopedic Hospital.
Alhaji Aminu Jauro Hassan, the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), praised the initiative as timely and effective for health transformation.
