Gov Kefas Tasks Corps Members To Promote National Unity, Integration

Corps members have been enjoined to embrace their deployment to Taraba State and see their posting as an opportunity to contribute towards the noble cause of fostering national unity and integration.

The call was made by Governor Agbu Kefas, who presided over the official opening ceremony and swearing -of 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 corps members deployed to the state at the NYSC Taraba Orientation Camp, Sibre on Friday 29/11/12.

Kefas, who was represented at the event by the Chief of Staff, Government House Jalingo, Dr. Jeji Williams, mni eulogized the invaluable contribution of corps members in the development of the state over the years.

Emphasized the need to imbibe the core ideals of patriotism, integrity, and teamwork, among others, which the orientation course seeks to inculcate in the corps members during the three-week national program.

Dr. Williams also assured the corps members of the commitment of the state government toward their security and welfare throughout the orientation course and the service year.

In an earlier address, the State Coordinator of NYSC Taraba, Mr. Ella Aji Williams, commended the corps members on their prompt resumption and spirited participation in camp activities.

He, however, urged them to endeavor to abide by the camp regulations while taking advantage of the rich and carefully tailored orientation course content, which, he assured, will equip them adequately to face and overcome the rigors and challenges of the service year.

The high point of the event, held simultaneously in all the 37 orientation camps nationwide, was the administration of the Oath of Allegiance on the corps members by the Chief Judge of Taraba State, Hon. Justice Nuhu Adi, and the signing of oath forms of representatives of the ten platoons on camp.

The colorful ceremony also had in attendance the heads of various security and paramilitary formations, high-ranking state government officials, the Permanent Secretary, Taraba State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Mrs. Indo Markson, the Director, NYSC Northeast Area Office II, Hajiya Aisha Abubakar Adamu among other dignitaries.
