Dr Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, has inaugurated newly appointed officials and charged them to represent the state with integrity, commitment, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Addressing the appointees, the Governor emphasized that the bodies and commissions they will lead are not ceremonial structures, but instruments of real change, meant to improve lives and deliver measurable results.
He noted that Development Commissions must play a critical role in promoting peace, food security, and economic value across all sectors of the state.
Governor Kefas urged the appointees to work closely with local communities, traditional institutions, farmers, and security agencies to ensure that development efforts foster quality growth rather than conflict.

He stressed that infrastructure development must be people-centred, adding that projects should improve lives and not merely generate headlines.
According to him, compassion must reflect in every policy and programme implemented.
Speaking specifically to the leadership of the Taraba State University of Tropical Agriculture, Science, Technology and Climate Action, the Governor called for excellence in research, innovation, and solutions that will transform agriculture, build climate resilience, and prepare the youth for future challenges.
He challenged the institution to become a university that Nigeria will be proud of.
On public health and environmental sustainability, Governor Kefas reiterated that cleanliness and environmental restoration are essential for healthy living.
He reminded appointees of comments made during the President’s visit last year, highlighting the importance of inclusiveness, sanitation, and worker safety.
Additionally, Kefas directed that all workers must be adequately protected at all times.
The Governor further reminded the appointees that public office is not a privilege but a difficult responsibility.
Performance, he said, will be measured by outcomes and solutions, not speeches or excuses, emphasising justice, fairness, transparency, discipline, and integrity as core values expected of all appointees.
“I did not appoint you to work in isolation,” the Governor stated. “You are appointed to complement one another. Our target is simple, results that the people can see and feel.”
Responding on behalf of the appointees, Hon. Danladi Baido thanked Dr Agbu Kefas for the confidence reposed in them and pledged their loyalty to the Governor, as well as commitment to protecting the interests of Taraba State.

He assured that the institutions under their leadership would work to ensure accountable governance, empowered citizens, and a safe, just, and inclusive society.
