Gov Kefas Elevates Surveyor Joshua To DG TAGIS

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State on Tuesday, the 1st of October 2024 approved the appointment of Surveyor Dr. Ma’aku Mark Joshua as the  Director General Taraba Geographic Information Services TAGIS.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, and made available to SAHEL REPORTERS by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yusuf Sanda says the appointment takes immediate effect.

The statement added that until his appointment, Joshua was the General Manager of Taraba Geographic Information System which was the creation of an executive order.

Furthermore, the statement stated that with the enactment of a law that currently gives TAGIS a legal status, Dr. Ma’aku Mark Joshua is elevated to head TAGIS as Director General. 

Dr. Joshua Ma’aku Mark was born to the family of Mr/Mrs. Joshua Danasebe Tsokwa Riti in Wukari LGA of Taraba State.

He obtained His primary education at Riti Primary School in 1989 and secondary education at the Government Teacher’s College Wukari in 1995; with his desire for science, He sat for senior secondary school NECO in 2015 and passed.

He further obtained a B.tech, M.tech, and a PhD Environmental Resource Management.

Dr. Mark Ma’aku Joshua was a Senior Lecturer at the Taraba State University Jalingo, in the Department of Geography.
