The Taraba State Government has reassured residents that law-abiding citizens have nothing to fear following the designation of Special Security Concern to the Karim-Lamido LGA of the state.

This was contained in a statement signed and issued to journalists on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Agbu Kefas, Yusuf Sanda.

The statement says that the designation aims to enhance coordination among security agencies and improve intelligence-led patrols and surveillance.

The state government described the measure as temporary, subject to periodic review, and strictly guided by the Constitution, with full respect for fundamental human rights.

It also seeks to regulate activities in identified flashpoint zones lawfully while strengthening community-based early-warning mechanisms to prevent potential security threats.

Residents, including traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth leaders, and other community stakeholders, were urged to cooperate with security agencies to ensure peace, stability, and mutual trust.

Additionally, the government emphasised that the initiative is part of its broader commitment to maintain peace across Taraba State.

The statement closed by advising communities to remain vigilant and supportive of government efforts to enhance security and public safety in the state.
