The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas has advised the 2024 Batch B Stream I Corps Members deployed to the State to always engage in things that will nurture as well as promote national unity and the corporate existence of the country.
Kefas, who was represented by his deputy, Alhaji Aminu Abdulahi Alkali made this known when he presided over the closing of the 2024 Batch B Stream I orientation course for Corps Members deployed to the State held at the Permanent Orientation Camp Sibre, Ardo Kola LGA.
Speaking further at the event, he implored members to always spread the message of hope to the people they would meet in their respective host communities and areas in the State.
He tasked them to make concerted efforts at finding solutions to emerging challenges in the areas of climate change, waste management, food production, ecosystem resilience, clean energy adaptability as well as artificial intelligence, urging them to make painstaking efforts to make contributions in these areas.
The Taraba State Chief Executive equally reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the state government to the promotion of the welfare and security of corps members in the state, entreating the corps to reciprocate these gestures by remaining committed, disciplined, and productive in their places of primary assignment.
Earlier in an address, the Coordinator, of NYSC Taraba State, Mr. Ella Aji Williams expressed his profound appreciation to the Special Guest of Honour, the representative of the Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Aminu Abdulahi Alkali, and the good people of the state for their support and assistance at all times.
He further reiterated that the partnership between the state government and the scheme is working and fully on course.
Williams assured that the management will always deploy corps professionals to the vital sectors of the state’s economy to help drive home the moving forward policy initiative of the present administration.
In attendance at the colorful event include the Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Bonzena, the Secretary to the Government of the State, Chief Gideon Kataps, the Chairman of the State NYSC Board and Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Amb. Joseph Joshua.
Others are the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Child Development, Mrs. Mary Sinjen, and her counterparts of Transport, Education, and Special Duties, as well as the Service Chiefs in the state.
