Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has emphasized the growing need for vigilance as security challenges continue to evolve in the remote northern parts of the state.
The Governor, who was returning to Yola after spending the Easter holiday in his hometown of Gulak, made a courtesy visit to the paramount ruler of Michika Chiefdom, His Royal Highness Prof. Bulus Gadiga. During the visit, he extended Easter greetings to the Mbege Ka Michika and his subjects.
While addressing residents of Michika, Governor Fintiri warned against treating security matters lightly, especially given the emerging threats in the far northern regions bordering the hinterlands. He urged the community to remain alert and proactive, encouraging them to share credible intelligence with security agencies to enhance the safety of the area.
Expressing appreciation for the continued support of Michika residents, the Governor pledged to deliver on his administration’s promises. He assured the people that all ongoing projects in the area would be completed, and more development initiatives would be implemented.
In response, HRH Prof. Bulus Gadiga expressed profound gratitude for the creation of the Chiefdom and the visible developmental strides brought to the area. He disclosed that district heads across Michika have been instructed to monitor movements in and out of the community to strengthen security efforts.
The royal father also commended the performance of security personnel stationed in the region, noting their efforts have been effective. He promised that the people of Michika would continue to support these efforts by providing useful information to security operatives.
As the rainy season approaches, HRH Gadiga mentioned that he has been engaging with youth, encouraging them to take up farming as a sustainable source of livelihood, reducing dependency on the government.
He reaffirmed the loyalty and support of the Chiefdom to Governor Fintiri and offered prayers for the Governor’s continued success and service to the people of Adamawa State.
