Gov Fintiri to Restore Vandalised Electrification Equipment in Demsa

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has announced plans to replace and reinstall electrification equipment vandalised and stolen by criminals in parts of Demsa Local Government Area.

The governor made the disclosure during his ongoing statewide engagement tour in Demsa, assuring residents that his administration would not allow criminal activities to deprive rural communities of essential infrastructure.

He stated that all damaged and stolen electrical facilities previously installed to serve communities in the area would be fully restored, stressing that access to electricity remains a key component of his administration’s rural development agenda.

Highlighting his government’s priorities, Governor Fintiri pledged to address requests presented by the people of Demsa and acknowledged the consistent and overwhelming support he has received from the electorate in the area.

He, however, urged residents to take ownership of government projects by safeguarding public facilities provided for their benefit, emphasizing that protecting public infrastructure is a shared responsibility between government and citizens.

Expressing appreciation for the warm reception accorded him, the governor assured the people that his commitment to Demsa would continue to translate into tangible democratic dividends. He reaffirmed his dedication to purposeful, people-oriented leadership anchored on democratic principles and the aspirations of the people of Adamawa State.

In separate goodwill messages, the Chairman of Demsa Local Government, Kate Raymond Mamuno; Member of the State House of Assembly, Felix Tangwami; the Commissioner for Health; and the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya, commended Governor Fintiri for what they described as leadership that matches words with action.

They highlighted projects executed in the area, including road construction, establishment of a cottage hospital to improve healthcare delivery, rural electrification, construction of model schools, and youth employment initiatives.

The event featured the presentation of gifts to the governor by the (CAN), the Muslim Council of Demsa, NYSC members, Fulani representatives, and other community groups, while cultural troupes entertained guests with traditional songs and dances.

Earlier, Governor Fintiri commissioned a rehabilitated Government Lodge in Demsa, executed by the Local Government Council. He also paid homage to the Hama Batta, His Royal Highness Alhaji Gladstone Teneke, formally informing the traditional ruler of his mission to the area.
