Adamawa State Government has suspended activities of both national and international Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) with immediate effect until 15th of March 2023.
The State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri disclosed this to journalists in a press conference at Government House Yola in respect to the aftermath experience of the presidential and National Assembly elections held on the 25th February 2023.
The Governor was concerned that in what looks like a humanitarian assistance rendered to the citizens, the NGOs have sabotage their services with sense a of political undertone which compromise their mode of operation to what it is not.
He said that the NGOs were engaged in vote buying while hiding under guise of rendering humanitarian services to the people which compromise the whole essence of their services to the people in the state.
He therefore directed that henceforth all NGOs in the state should stop operating in the state with immediate effect until 15th of March when they are free to resume their activities.
The Governor has commended the citizens for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections saying that the outcome depict through reflection of Adamawa as the home of peace and a bastion of democracy.
