“We have significantly upgraded our schools with modern infrastructure and enhanced learning facilities,” he said. “We’ve constructed model nursery, primary, and junior secondary schools, which are set to begin admissions next academic session.”

On healthcare, Governor Fintiri noted that eight new cottage hospitals have been built while existing secondary health facilities have been upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment. He added that well-qualified personnel are being recruited to strengthen healthcare delivery.

The governor further assured that insecurity in the state has been substantially reduced.

He announced that the Health Management Board is working on staff audits to determine the number of vacancies to be filled. He also revealed plans to recruit NCE holders into primary schools once staff verification is completed.

As part of efforts to curb unemployment, he stated that 4,000 youths will be recruited into ministries, boards, and parastatals. Additionally, each local government has been allocated 300 hectares of land to support local farming initiatives.

“We also built a befitting stadium to promote sports development and youth engagement across the state,” he added.

Governor Fintiri used the platform to address concerns surrounding the proposed amendment Law 2024 currently before the State House of Assembly.

He described the controversy as the handiwork of mischief-makers, clarifying that the amendment aims to ensure smooth traditional leadership succession and is being developed in collaboration with traditional rulers.

He cited the Lunguda and Mbula chiefdoms, where monarchs had to temporarily delegate authority due to health issues, as examples of the amendment’s necessity.

On economic empowerment, the governor reaffirmed the state’s commitment to the PAWECA scheme, which grants N50,000 to small-scale business owners.

He also confirmed his support for the amendment law seeking to extend the tenure of local government chairmen from two to three years. “Civil service promotions will also continue as directed,” he said.

A major highlight of the programme was the interactive question-and-answer session, where listeners called in to engage directly with the governor on various issues affecting their communities.

Following the broadcast, Governor Fintiri took time to inspect newly procured broadcast equipment at the ABC station.
