Gov Fintiri Receives Army Chief, Assures Sustained Collaboration To Enhance Security

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has received Nigeria Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, in the Government House Yola, Wednesday.

The Chief of Army Staff was in the state on operation tour of the 23 Armoured Brigade Yola.

Governor Umaru Fintiri commended the Army Chief for taking his time to visit the state to asses the security situation.

He equally commended the state 23 Brigade commander, Brigadier General PK Zawaya, for always responding whenever his attention is needed on security issues.

Governor Fintiri assured the Army Chief that his administration will sustain its collaboration with the Army to enhance security in the state.

He says though the State has grappled with security challenges in Gombi and Garkida axis, among other areas of the Northern zone as well as the farmer/harder clash in Numan zone but express the commitment to contain the challenges.

Earlier, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, intimated the Governor that he has taken time and interacted with the 23 Brigade formation where he was briefed on the security situation of the state.

He appreciated the Governor for the support he has been rendering to the army formations and units and appealed for more support while assuring that the army on its part will do everything possible to live up to its responsibility of protecting lives and properties of the citizens of the state.
