Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to constructing a brand new National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp and enhancing the welfare of corps members in the state.
The Governor made this pledge while addressing youth corps members during a special event organized by the NYSC at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola, held in appreciation of his efforts toward ensuring the safety and well-being of corps members posted to Adamawa.
Describing the event as remarkable, Governor Fintiri commended the corps members for their service and encouraged them to continue integrating with their host communities across the state.
He reiterated his administration’s resolve to maintain peace and security to create a conducive environment for both residents and visitors.
In her remarks, the Adamawa State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Osoro Caroline Chinedu, lauded Governor Fintiri for his unwavering support for the NYSC scheme. She particularly praised him for the construction of the access road leading to the state orientation camp.
Mrs. Caroline also highlighted several other achievements of the Fintiri-led administration, including the increment of corps members’ monthly allowances to N20,000, provision of an ambulance and a pavilion, and regular maintenance of camp facilities.
The event featured presentation of gifts to the Governor, colorful cultural dances, exhibitions, and other performances by corps members, adding vibrancy to the celebration.
