Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has officially launched a three-day stakeholders’ engagement aimed at simplifying the implementation of the 2025 e-Budget by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Adamawa State.
The engagement is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge on the key principles of budget implementation within governance. Speaking at the event, the Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Emmanuel Anthony Predimso, emphasized the state’s commitment to transitioning from an analogue to a fully digital budgeting system.
Governor Fintiri noted that the traditional analogue method has posed significant challenges for MDAs, making it crucial to sensitize stakeholders on the benefits and procedures of adopting the e-Budget system. He further highlighted that the involvement of directors of finance, planning officers, and budget officers in the engagement is a step towards enhancing the efficiency of e-budgeting across the state.
According to him, despite working with the analogue system, Adamawa State has ranked first in the North-East and third nationally in budget performance over the past two years. He expressed optimism that the adoption of the e-Budget policy would accelerate development and improve public financial management.
Among the participants were Muhammed Nurudeen Yusuf from ABC Yola and Salamatu Wajike from the Office of the Accountant General, who both described the engagement as timely and beneficial to their daily responsibilities.
The event also featured presentations from key resource persons, including the Governor’s Special Adviser on E-Governance, Dr. Ahmed Hammajam, who delivered insightful papers to enhance participants’ understanding of digital budgeting processes.
