Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has announced free dialysis treatments across the state to make healthcare more accessible to the common man.
The initiative is part of the governor’s ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare services, ensuring both urban and rural communities benefit from improved medical care.
The dialysis center at Adamawa State Specialists Hospital, Yola, is the first of its kind in the history of state-owned medical facilities.
Previously, dialysis patients had to rely on the Federal Medical Center, Yola, or travel long distances to access treatment.
Medical Director of the Specialists Hospital, Dr. Wadinga Dauda, emphasized the governor’s commitment to public health, noting that Fintiri’s administration has prioritized essential hospital upgrades, including the construction of new cottage hospitals across local government areas.
A patient undergoing dialysis at the facility shared his experience, highlighting the impact of the free treatment program.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has been widely praised as a servant-leader dedicated to transforming Adamawa’s healthcare system and addressing longstanding challenges in the state.
