Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has commeserated with Amna Shelleng, Alhaji Abdullahi Isa Dasong over death of his elder sister, Hajiya Salamatu Isa Dasong.
She died this week at the age of 70 after an illness in Shelleng and left behind husband, Alhaji Inuwa Yayaji Shelleng, five children and siblings.
Speaking at the palace of Amna Shelleng on Saturday, Governor Umaru Fintiri observed that the late elderly woman will no doubt be sorely missed by the people of Adamawa.
He sympathized with the royal family and the entire people of Shelleng, telling them that death is inevitable and a mortal cannot questioned the authority of God over a decision He deem fit.
The Governor urged the bereaved family to take solace in God over the passage and emulate the wise counsels of their matriach, praying to God to grant her eternal rest.
Governor Fintiri used the medium to thank the people of Shelleng over their massive support to him during the 18th March Governorship election.
As the election set to be concluded on 15th April in Adamawa, Governor Fintiri appealed to the district heads in Shelleng to extend his message of gratitude to their subjects.
He restated his commitment to continue to govern the state with fairness, treating everybody without discrimation on the basis of politics or any sentiment for the betterment of Adamawa.
In his response, Amna Shelleng, Alhaji Abdullahi Isa Dasong thanked Governor Umaru Fintiri for identifying with him and his subjects in their saddest moment.
The royal father described the passing of his elder sister as a great one to the chiefdom, recalling how he has benefited from her counsels in the course of discharging his duties on the reign.
He noted that only God can decide the fate of every human being and drew attention of the people to live a positive and examplery lifestyle as death is inevitable to every mortal.
Prayers were offered for the family and repose of the soul of the deceased elderly woman.
Governor Fintiri was accompanied to Shelleng by some members of the state House of Assembly and Chief of Staff Prof Maxwell Gidado among others.
