Gov Fintiri Charges New EYN Leadership To Lead According To Biblical Injunction

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has congratulated the new leadership of the Church Of The Brethren In Nigeria (EYN) and urged them to live according to Biblical injunction and submit to the service of God and humanity.

The Governor who was among other special guests during the inauguration of the new EYN principal officers, promised to work with the new leadership to make Adamawa State a better place.

The event which took place at EYN Headquarters Conference Hall, Kwarhi Mararaban Mubi, Hong LGA on Saturday ushered in another set of leadership of the church for a period of 4 years.

In his goodwill message, Fintiri underscores the importance of interfaith, harmony and profound respect for each other’s religious belief and practices.

The Governor revealed that justice and fairness marked the center of his oath in service to the State and the foundation of his administration success, calling on the president to make his voice heard and leadership seen where their is deprivation and injustice.

“Onbehalf of the government and good people of Adamawa State, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the new leadership.

“May your tenure be blessed with success, may your leadership bring about positive and lasting change”.

Governor Fintiri cautioned religious leaders to live above board at all times and serve as a shining example to the congregation both inside and outside the sacred center of worship.

Fintiri warns that the church must at all coast be protected against machinations that will reduce it to the mundane level of pity politics and tool for cheap propaganda that add no respectful value to sacred status of God.

“We remain committed to building a society that preaches love not hatred, trust not distrust, harmony not discord tolerance not reboof, peace not conflict.

“We also know that the only way we can succeed in building this kind of society, is to collaborate with socializing institutions like the church and mosques, “he said.

Governor Fintiri, commended the efforts of the previous leadership of the church and its lasting legacies under Rev’d Dr. Joel Bili, and urged the new principal officers of the church to sustained such legacies for the development and progress of the church.

In his acceptance speech, the new EYN President Rev. Dr. Daniel Mbaya, appreciated the role played by the previous leadership of the church and promised to sustain such efforts.

He however, noted areas of concentration and mission of the church where the new leadership will work towards improving upon.

He also noted the plan of the new church principal officers to introducing prospects and developments that will bring glory to God and edify the church both physically and spiritually.

He appreciated the efforts of Governor Umaru Fintiri, in the development of the state, fostering peaceful coexistence and unity among divers people of the state.

Few among notable prospects the new leadership highlighted to pursue include, establishment of a University as well as Television and Radio stations.

The newly inaugurated leadership of the church include: Rev’d Dr. Daniel Mbaya as president, Rev’d Nuhu Mutah Abba Vice President, Rev’d James Musa General Secretary and Rev’d Timta Luka Musa will serve as Administrative Secretary.

The church spiritual adviser Rev. Ezra Dawi, presided over administering the oath of office on the new leadership of the church.
