Gov Fintiri, Amna, Others Celebrate Eid-El-Kabir in Shelleng

By Muhammad B. Muhammad

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State Sunday joined hundreds of Muslims at the Shelleng local government Eid ground to observe the two raka’at supererogatory prayers in commemoration of 2024 Eid-El-Kabir Sallah celebration.

In his sermon after leading the prayers, Chief Imam Mallam Lalwanu Dankaka dwelled extensively on the history and significance of the Eid-El-Kabir to Muslims Ummah.

While enumerating the categories of healthy animals for sacrifice, Mallam Lalwanu admonished Muslims to slaughter healthy animals while following suit the traditions of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him.

The Chief Imam offered Special prayers for peace and tranquility in the country and thereafter slaughtered his ram, symbolizing that every Muslim who can afford a sacrificial animal can do the same according to Islamic injunction.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the prayer, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri urged Muslims to celebrate the day by creating peace and unity and following the exemplary virtues of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him.

He believed that the current insecurity bedeviling the country among other issues would soon be over and urged the citizenry to continue to promote peaceful coexistence and tolerance in the society.

Worried by the bitting inflation across the country, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is optimistic that things will get better, urging the citizens to continue to pray for the leaders and the nation at large.
