Adamawa: Any Principal Found Collecting Illegal Fees Will Be Sanctioned – Govt

By Jessica John Bakari

Secondary School principals of public schools in Adamawa State have been warned not to collect school fees and National examination council (NECO), West Africa examination fees from parents as Government has taken over that responsibility.

The state ministry of education and human capital development gave the warning in a statement signed by director of quality assurance Mr Isiah Shall-mark on behalf of the commissioner Mrs wilbina Jackson.

According to the statement, any school principal found collecting any illegal fees will be appropriately sanctioned.

The statement explained that the clerification and warning became necessary as reports reaching the ministry indicates that some principals of public schools in the state are collecting what is described as illegal fees.

It stated that the present administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has taken over payment of NECO and WAEC fees for students in the state government owned secondary Schools and therefore principals have no reason to collect money from parents for the examinations.
