Former Registrar Begs Taraba Polytechnic To Pay His Retired Benefits

By Sahel Reporters – Taraba

Mr Ignatius Jelason, former Registrar of the Taraba State Polytechnic, Suntai, on Saturday begged the polytechnic to pay his retirement benefits.

Jelason appealed while speaking to newsmen in Jalingo.

He said that he had left office in 2024 and nothing had been done regarding the payment of his entitlements.

He explained that he had served the state for 35 years.

The former Registrar revealed that he served under the Taraba State Post Primary Schools Management Board (TSPPSMB) for 30 years and the Taraba State Polytechnic for the remaining five years.

He also insisted that former Governor Darius Ishaku duly signed his transfer of service from the TSPPSMB to the polytechnic as the registrar of the institution.

” I worked under the Taraba State Post Primary Schools Management Board and left as principal of Government Science Secondary School Jalingo in 2019.

“I transferred my services to the polytechnic in 2019, when the former Governor Darius Ishaku duly signed my transfer of service to the polytechnic, and I retired in 2024 as the registrar of the institution.

” I have since submitted all my valid documents to the polytechnic’s pension office for onward processing, and since then, there has been no progress.

” I am appealing to the polytechnic’s management to hasten the process to enable me to access my benefits,” he said.

A staff member of the polytechnic, who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity because he was not permitted to speak to the press, confirmed the submission of the file to the institution.

He said that the file was at the office of the registrar of the polytechnic, undergoing a bureaucratic process.
