As Governor Agbu is set to join the APC, the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), Taraba State Chapter, has urged President Bola Tinubu to accord Governor Agbu Kefas all the necessary support to achieve his aims of transforming the state.
The state Chairperson (Amirah), Malama Aishatu Muhammad made the plea during a special prayer organised by the office of the Special Adviser to Governor Agbu Kefas on Islamic Religion Affairs, Malam Hussaini Isma’il, held in Jalingo.

The congregation brought together various Islamic organisations in the state, including the Forum of Islamic Preachers, the Tsangaya Association of Nigeria, the Qadiriya Council, the Women in Da’awa, the FOMWAN, the Imams Jumma’at Forum, and the Tijjaniya Grassroots Association, among others.
While praying to God to make Governor Agbu Kefa’s decision to join the APC an impactful one for the people of Taraba State, Malama Aishatu Muhammad alongside other selected women, recognised the significant impact of the Governor’s leadership on the state’s development.
“We hope and pray that his defection to the APC will yield positive results for all Tarabans, and may Allah continue to assist Governor Agbu Kefas to succeed. Therefore, we, the Muslim Women, are behind him one hundred per cent. We just have to support him.”

That was the recitation of the complete Holy Qur’an by both the children, adults, and the elderly people, including women and shortly after that, Sheikh Usman Suleiman also led a special prayer session, seeking divine guidance and support for Governor Agbu Kefas as he prepares to join the APC in the state.
On his part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Islamic Religion Affairs, Malam Hussaini Isma’il appreciated participants from across the sixteen LGAs of the state, describing Governor Kefas’s decision to defect as beneficial to Tarabans.

“I am optimistic that joining the APC by my principal, Dr Agbu Kefas, would bring more progress to our dear state. May Allah continue to strengthen his relationship with President Bola Tinubu for them to bring more development to Taraba State and Nigeria at large.” the SA added.
However, all the leaders of the Islamic groups endorsed the governor’s decision and pledged their support.
Alhaji Jauro Musa Mafindi, who was among those who graced the prayers cession, commended Governor Kefas for his efforts in improving security, implementing free education, and reducing fees at all state-owned institutions.

It is worth noting that the official defection of Governor Agbu Kefas to the All Progressives Congress (APC) would be a historic event, as his current party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ruled the state for thirty-six (36) years.
