Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has directed Chairmen of Local Government Area Councils to deploy palliative measures to cushion the effects of hunger in the land.
He gave the directive when he received the Council leaders who were in the Government House, Yola to congratulate him over his victory at the Supreme Court.
The Governor asked the local government leaders after payment of salaries to workers to deploy other resources into providing palliative measures to the people.
Governor Fintiri outlines areas deserving of palliative to include health, transportation, food, and what he described as stomach infrastructure.
He noted that the worst current insecurity bedeviling Nigeria and indeed th world is hunger, hardship, and skyrocketing prices of commodities hence the need to provide succour to Adamawa citizens through good governance.
The Governor stresses that the government must double its efforts to provide other means that will cushion the hardships people are passing through in the State.
The State Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Alhaji Abdussalam Gidado congratulated Governor Fintiri for getting his reelection victory being affirmed by the Supreme Court.
He commended Governor Umaru Fintiri for making governance a serious business in Adamawa, and assured him their support and that of their people for the good of the state.
