The FGGC Jalingo, from Taraba State, has emerged as the overall champion in the just-concluded maiden edition of the Pan-African Problem Solvers’ Challenge for Secondary School Students, PANSC.
The competition was held in Accra, Ghana, in August 2025, with 279 schools as participants, where the FGGC Jalingo emerged as the overall winner.

The program aimed to enhance students’ problem-solving skills through engaging challenges related to real-world issues and fostering collaboration among young people from different African countries.
It is also aimed at encouraging students to move beyond traditional textbook learning and explore entrepreneurship, as well as innovation as ways to address the continent’s challenges.
Among the three students from the FGGC Jalingo who participated in the competition are Stephanie Nwabueze Chioma, Aho Mercy Mhoonum, and Ahmad Ummul Khulsum.

Stephanie Nwabueze Chioma, who is the School Head Girl, also emerged as the best overall participant in the Pan-African Problem Solvers’ Challenge in Ghana.

However, the Taraba State Government has been praised for sponsoring the students from the FGGC Jalingo to the event.
The Principal of the FGGC Jalingo, Mrs Justina Isaac Kure, made the commendation while briefing the state Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Hon Dr Augustina Godwin, on the outcome of their trip to the Republic of Ghana.
Mrs Kure revealed that without the timely intervention of Governor Agbu Kefas, the school’s success wouldn’t have been recorded and expressed deep appreciation to Dr Augustina Godwin for the role she played.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that the certificates were presented to the three students, who represented the school, by the Commissioner of Education, Hon. Dr Augustina Godwin and the Taraba State Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Otimenyin, during an event in preparation for the 70th Anniversary of Women in Policing in Nigeria.

Additionally, the August 2026 edition of the Pan-African Problem Solvers’ Challenge is billed to take place in both Kenya and Ghana.
