Easter: Gov Fintiri Calls for Peace and Selflessness During Celebrations

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON, has urged the state's residents to embrace the values of peace and selflessness throughout the Easter weekend.

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON, has urged the state’s residents to embrace the values of peace and selflessness throughout the Easter weekend.

As Christians around the world celebrate Easter, Governor Fintiri reflected on the teachings of Jesus Christ and encouraged citizens to support the less fortunate.

He emphasized that Christ’s sacrifice was for the healing of the world, not its destruction, and reminded people that Easter is a time for selflessness and sacrifice, just as Christ gave himself for humanity’s peace.

“This special season, particularly for Christians, marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As we enter Easter, let’s remember it is a time for sacrifice—just as Jesus was sacrificed for mankind and peace,” he said.

The Governor urged Christians to honor the grace of Jesus Christ by extending kindness to the less fortunate. “Let us make it our mission to spread love by helping those in need this Easter, in the spirit of the immense love Jesus showed by dying for mankind.”

Governor Fintiri also appealed for unity among residents, with the long-term aim of sustaining peace in the state.

“I send you heartfelt wishes, hoping we continue to uphold the unity that binds us, enabling us to build a respected and peaceful state, a place of forgiveness and harmony,” Governor Fintiri added.

“May this Easter bring peace, joy, and renewed national unity.”
