The Adamawa State College of Legal Studies, Yola, has inaugurated new principal officers to lead the institution for the next five years.
The inauguration ceremony, held on Wednesday at the college’s conference hall, was presided over by the Chairman of the Governing Council, Hon. Amos Yusuf Wavah.
In his address, Hon. Wavah charged the new leadership to foster unity and collaboration in advancing the institution.
He urged the newly appointed Provost, Registrar, and acting Librarian to prioritize improving both the learning and working environment of the college.
He also emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and dedication in their duties.
The Governing Council Chairman commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his visionary leadership in appointing competent individuals to steer the affairs of the institution.
He expressed confidence that the new officers would meet expectations and urged them to work collectively for the progress of the college.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated officers, the new Provost, Barrister Suleiman Ahmed, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for the opportunity to serve.
He pledged to justify the trust placed in them and assured stakeholders that the new management team would foster inclusivity in decision-making.
Goodwill messages were delivered by various dignitaries, including the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Legal Matters, Barr. Leader Leneke, Chairman of Yola North Local Government Area, Barrister Jibrilla Ibrahim, and Chairman of the House of Assembly Service Commission, Hannatu Kadala, among others.
They congratulated the new officers and encouraged them to work diligently in advancing the institution.
Stakeholders lauded the College of Legal Studies, Yola, as a reputable center of legal education, having produced numerous outstanding graduates across Adamawa State and Nigeria.
The newly inaugurated officers are Barrister Suleiman Ahmed, Provost; Emmanuel Ibrahim Buba, Registrar; and Jummai Ali Kori, Acting Librarian.
The Provost and Registrar will serve a five-year tenure, while the Librarian will serve in an acting capacity for six months.
