The Counseling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), Adamawa State Chapter, and the Star Ladies Widows Foundation have paid separate familiarization visits to the Adamawa State Coordinator of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Barrister Khalifa M. Lawan.

During the visits, the two organisations expressed interest in establishing strategic partnerships with the Commission to strengthen mental health support, psychosocial services, and empowerment programmes for widows and other vulnerable groups in Adamawa State.

They highlighted the growing need for structured counselling services and psychosocial interventions, particularly for communities affected by conflict, displacement, and socio-economic hardship in the North-East region.

Responding, Barrister Khalifa M. Lawan welcomed the initiatives and reaffirmed the NEDC’s commitment to holistic development, social inclusion, and the promotion of psychosocial well-being across the state.

He noted that the Commission remains open to collaborations that align with its mandate of rebuilding lives and restoring hope in the region.

Barr. Lawan assured the visiting organisations of the Commission’s readiness to explore viable partnerships that would positively impact vulnerable populations and contribute to sustainable development in Adamawa State.
