The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has been conferred with an Honorary Doctor of Science Degree in Public Administration by the University of Port Harcourt.
The award would be presented during the institution’s 35th Convocation ceremony on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
The honorary degree was bestowed in recognition of Governor Fintiri’s distinguished leadership, remarkable contributions to governance, and unwavering commitment to public service.
The University hailed him as a transformational leader who has significantly impacted the development trajectory of Adamawa State and the nation at large.
Reacting to the development, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa State Chapter, has extended a congratulatory message to the Governor, describing the award as “well-deserved” and a testament to his role as the architect of the New Adamawa.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of CAN in Adamawa State, Rev. Dr. Joel D. Manzo, the body praised Governor Fintiri for his selfless service and the positive impact of his administration across communities.
“We celebrate your achievements and look forward to continued advancement under your leadership,” the statement read in part. “This rare and remarkable honour is one that resonates with pride across the state.”
