The Adamawa State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Dr. Joel Danjuma Manzo, has extended heartfelt sympathy to the government and people of Yola South Local Government Area following the recent devastating floods that claimed lives and destroyed property.
In a statement issued on behalf of the state Christian community, Rev. Manzo expressed condolences to families who lost loved ones and those displaced by the disaster. He described the incident as a painful tragedy and prayed for divine comfort and healing for the affected.
“Permit me to extend my deepest sympathy to the victims of the flood disaster. May God intervene and provide comfort, hope, and healing to those affected. We pray for God’s protection and guidance as we work together to rebuild and recover,” he said.
The CAN Chairman commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his swift response to the crisis and called on churches, families, and well-meaning individuals to urgently donate to ease the burden of the victims.
He further appealed to individuals in possession of property belonging to flood victims to return them to their rightful owners, urging all to act with empathy and integrity during this difficult time.
“Let us not take advantage of others’ misfortunes but rather show empathy and kindness,” he emphasized.
Rev. Manzo also called on local authorities to display all recovered items publicly to facilitate claims by rightful owners, stating that such acts of compassion would go a long way in restoring hope and dignity to those affected.
