The Bauchi state Ministry of Health has a signed a contract agreement of over 7.6 billion naira with five contractors for the upgrade of selected 124 primary healthcare centers in the state.
The event held at the Primary primary healthcare board conference hall marks the beginning of Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress by accelerating coverage and transforming services IMPACT project to be implemented by the primary healthcare board.
The Commissioner of health Bauchi Dr Sani Mohammed Dambam said the upgrade of the facilities was part of the government commitment toward improving the health care system of the state.
Dr Sani Dambam reveal that the IMPACT is a world bank project, warning the contractors against executing substandard project which according to him government will not condone substandard work.
Updating the gathering on the revitalization of 124 PHC’s through the IMPACT project, the Program Manager of Immunization Plus and Malaria Progress by accelerating coverage and transforming services IMPACT project Dr Adamu Muhammad congratulated the successful biders for winning the contract, assuring that the contract will start immediately.
Dr Adamu Muhammad therefore call on the contractors to hand in hand with the local government toward the success of the project, charge them to ensure the completion of the project within the stipulated time of five to six months.
In remark, the Executive Chairman Bauchi state Primary Health Care Board Dr Rilwanu Mohammed emphasize the need for the communities to ensure the safety of the facilities and it’s equipment.
