The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Bauchi State Chapter has address the recent appeal made by Shamsuddeen, son of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, regarding the empowerment of Bauchi youths as Sentiment.
This was contain in a signed statement by Wada Abdullahi, the State Secretary of the PRP and made available to Sahel Reporters on Tuesday.
The statement reveal that Mr. Shamsuddeen’s request for Seyi Tinubu to provide employment opportunities and resources for entrepreneurial ventures is indeed a noble sentiment.
“However, we find it deeply troubling that a son of a sitting governor would appeal to the son of the president for solutions that fall squarely within the responsibilities of his own father. This raises serious questions about the adequacy of leadership in Bauchi State and highlights the failure of the Bala Mohammed administration to address the pressing issues of unemployment, poverty, and the lack of opportunities for the youth.”
“It is shameful that Mr. Shamsuddeen is calling upon Seyi Tinubu to fill the gaps left by his father’s administration. Such an appeal not only underscores the shortcomings in the governance of Bauchi State but also reflects an unwillingness to hold accountable those in positions of power who are responsible for the well-being of their constituents.”
PRP added that It is the duty of leaders, particularly governors, to create an environment where the youth can thrive—not to rely on handouts from the sons of presidents.
“Moreover, we must highlight the detrimental actions taken by Governor Bala Mohammed that have further exacerbated the plight of the youth in Bauchi State. The governor has demolished an uncountable number of business structures owned by young entrepreneurs across the state without providing any alternatives or support. These actions have not only stripped many of their livelihoods but have also inflicted long-lasting damage to the entrepreneurial spirit that is vital for the economic growth of our community.”
“Given these circumstances, it is clear that Governor Bala Mohammed is the first person who should be providing opportunities and solutions to the youth, rather than delegating this responsibility to the son of the president.”
The statement acknowledge that the challenges faced by the youth of Bauchi State—poverty, hunger, and joblessness—are a direct consequence of the policies and governance exhibited by Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration.
“It is the systemic failures perpetuated by leaders of both the state and federal levels, including the Tinubu and Mohammed administrations, that compel our youth to seek temporary reliefs in the form of handouts, rather than sustainable opportunities for growth and development.”
The statement therefore urge Seyi Tinubu to recognize that a distribution of temporary handouts will not and cannot remedy the systemic challenges that have prevailed under his father’s administration.
“Alleviating poverty and creating true empowerment requires more than fleeting acts of charity; it necessitates a commitment to structural change and accountability from those in power.”
“Let this serve as a reminder to all political leaders, particularly Governor Bala Mohammed and President Bola Tinubu, that the youth of today are more informed and aware than ever before. They will not be swayed by temporary measures or short-term palliatives. The consequences of current policies will echo through the actions of the electorate come 2027. The citizens, particularly the youth, will exercise their voices and votes with wisdom, ensuring that those who have failed them face the accountability they rightly deserve
