Bauchi Govt To Recruit Security Personnel In Public Schools

Bauchi State Government has reaffirmed commitment to recruit more security personnel in public schools aimed towards implementing the National Policy for Safety, Security and Violence Free Schools

The Commissioner for Education, Dr Jamila Muhammad Dahiru stated this during the Cluster Meeting on domestication of the National Policy for Public schools safety, security and violence free schools.

The Commissioner represented by the Director Schools Services of the Ministry, Malama Fatima Musa Garba said the present administration led by Governor Bala Mohammad is committed to providing conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

She described the National Policy initiated by the federal government as apt and assured the readiness of the state ministry of education to support the crusade with a view to protect the schools facilities and lives of the pupils for effective service delivery.

In her speech during the meeting, the Project Manager, Education of Young Leaders Network, Charity Solomon said the rational behind the engagement between NGO’s and Educational Stakeholders is to provide new modalities that will improve the education standard and working environment for pupils and their teachers.

She urged the State Ministry of Education and the Universal Basic Education Board to intensify advocacy for community involvement in public schools.

Solomon also called on the education authorities to engage community leaders in taking ownership of public schools.
