Bauchi State was choosen to join the Ten piloting states for the establishment of New Police Special intervention squad (SIS).
It is on this trend that Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir expressed his readiness towards synergizing with the Nigeria police force for successful launching and operations of the new security team in the state.
The Governor was speaking at the council chamber of the Government house when he welcome the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetakun who is in Bauchi for a two day official Engagement.
Governor Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir described the visit of the Nigeria police boss to the state as apt and timely considering the gradual transition of Bauchi State not just as an oil producing state but Economic hub of the North and country with vast Natural resources.
Adding that as the state prepared to join the League of Mining and industrial state there is need for strengthening of Security of forests and properties through the use of technology to Monitor movements of criminals in the state.
Governor Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir decries on the Ration of the Police and populace told his visitor that his administration has engaged the services of Local security outfits to strengthen the Forest as well as internal security.
Earlier The Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetakun appreciated the support of the Government and people of Bauchi State to the Nigeria police force which is the rationale behind the relative peace enjoy by the state.
He explained that the Special intervention squad will be launch in 10 piloting states including Bauchi State to tackle the incessant movement of criminals around the states of the federation especially during an offensive operations by the security operatives.
Kayode Egbetakun added that The Force Headquarters is deploying technology in policing to address insecurity around the country as directed by President Bola Ahmad Tinubu and sought the support of Stakeholders especially states Governors to defeat the common enemies of the nation.
