Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has paid a condolence visit to the family, the people, and the government of Kano State over the passing of elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
Leading a delegation earlier today, Atiku first visited the Dantata family residence, where he expressed deep sorrow over the loss. He described Alhaji Dantata as a global icon in entrepreneurship whose passing is a profound loss not only to the family and people of Kano but to Nigeria and the international community.
From there, Atiku proceeded to the Kano State Government House, where he was received by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
While speaking, the former Vice President said, “The death of Alhaji Aminu Dantata is a national and global loss. His life was dedicated to service, business excellence, and philanthropy. His legacy will endure for generations.”
Atiku prayed for Allah to grant the deceased Aljannah Firdaus and to grant the family, the government, and the people of Kano the fortitude to bear the loss.
In response, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf thanked Atiku for the visit and his earlier gesture of sending a delegation to Saudi Arabia for the funeral rites of the late businessman. He emphasized that Aminu Dantata played a key role in Kano’s economic development, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare.
“He was a pillar in our society, and his passing has created a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill,” the governor said.
Atiku’s visit underscored the national significance of Dantata’s contributions and the widespread grief his death has caused.
