Former Vice President of Nigeria and prominent chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has thrown his weight behind the newly inaugurated leadership of the party in Adamawa State, led by Hon. Sadiq Dasin as Chairman and Mrs. Blaise Hungushi Osagie as Secretary.
In a statement released via his Facebook page on Tuesday, Atiku congratulated the duo on their inauguration, which took place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, describing their emergence as a positive step toward strengthening the party’s structure and unity in the state.
“It is my hope and prayer that their inauguration will strengthen our party’s structure and unify all ADC members in Adamawa State,” Atiku stated. “I fully and unequivocally support this leadership as inaugurated.”
The former Vice President also urged all party members and stakeholders to rally behind the new leadership, stressing the need for cooperation and focus on building a credible opposition capable of offering better governance alternatives to the people of Adamawa and Nigeria at large.
Political observers note that Atiku’s endorsement comes amid reported factional divisions within the state chapter of the ADC, a situation his statement appears aimed at resolving.
Atiku’s call for unity, analysts say, may play a crucial role in repositioning the ADC as a formidable political force in Adamawa ahead of future elections.
