The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi state says it would convocate a total of 19,252 students of the institution.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Pro. Muhammad Abdul Aziz, disclosed this in Bauchi on Monday during a pre-convocation news conference.
According to him, the combined convocation which included the 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th set has a total of 15,460 undergraduates.
He added that a total of 1,653 Post Graduate Diploma students, 1,559 Masters, 176 PhD, 404 Diploma students would be convocated in the combined convocation ceremony.
The VC said that the ceremony would commence on February 22 and ends on February 24, 2024.
“The combined Convocation ceremony will start on Thursday, 22nd February, 2024 with the commissioning of 19 different projects completed in the last four years.
“These projects are spread in both Gubi and Yelwa campuses. We are inviting a number of dignitaries to commission these projects and these includes Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state.
“Others are Gov. DikkoRadda of Katsina state, Governor of Katsina State, the Honourable Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr Ali Pate and all the three Senators representing Bauchi state.
“On Friday, 23rd February, 2024, there will be a convocation Lecture by 4:00pm at the Yelwa Campus where Professor of Media studies, Umar Pate, will deliver the lecture with the topic, Education and Nigeria’s National Integration in the Digital Age: Matters Arising,” he said.
AbdulAziz further stated that among the graduands are first set 25 medical doctors from the university.
