APC-IGG National President, Amb Tsoken Praises Tinubu For Freeing The Nation From IMF’s Debts

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been praised for freeing Nigeria from debts owed to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), totalling $1.61 billion (2.59 trillion as of May 7, 2025). 

This commendation was made by Ambassador Musa Mohammed Tsoken, the National President of the APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG), during a conversation with reporters in Abuja on Thursday.

Ambassador Tsoken stated that President Tinubu had saved Nigeria from being viewed as a country burdened by IMF debts. 

He emphasized that the clearance of this debt marks the end of a long-standing financial burden that has weighed heavily on Africa’s most populous nation. 

Tsoken expressed pride in President Tinubu, highlighting that his policies will undoubtedly foster significant development in the country.

He also called on Nigerians to continue supporting the current administration in realizing Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. 

Additionally, Tsoken acknowledged the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Dr. George Akume, for consistently advocating the need for Nigerians to back President Tinubu. 

He praised Tinubu’s critical economic policies aimed at ensuring that citizens benefit fully from democracy and good governance beyond 2027.
