Aminu Saleh College Of Education Hails Gov. Mohammed For Dual Mandate Approval

The Management of Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare, has expressed profound gratitude to the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for granting approval for the institution to operate a dual mandate offering both Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and degree programmes simultaneously.

Speaking to journalists after a meeting with the governor and heads of tertiary institutions, the Provost, Professor Asabe Sadiya Mohammed, described the approval as a significant step towards expanding access to quality teacher education in the state.

“The dual mandate will enable us to meet the growing demand for qualified educators and contribute more effectively to the educational and socio-economic development of Bauchi State,” she said.

Prof. Mohammed highlighted other interventions by the state government, including directives to Local Government Chairmen to support student sponsorships, restoration of electricity supply to the college, ongoing road construction, and the renovation and construction of staff quarters.

She further noted the governor’s approval for the recruitment of 154 staff members, particularly the absorption of part-time staff and the hiring of additional academic personnel to close manpower gaps.

The provost commended the Commissioner for Higher Education and Regional Integration, Dr. Lydia Haruna Tsammani, for her support and guidance. She also appreciated the Governing Council led by Rtd. Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba, alongside institutional partners such as the NCCE, NUC, and the University of Maiduguri, for their collaborative role in achieving this milestone.

Prof. Mohammed reaffirmed the college’s readiness to partner with the government in advancing education in Bauchi State, pledging to meet the two-week deadline for submissions to regulatory bodies as directed by the governor.
