In a bid to promote entrepreneurship and self-reliance among youths in Adamawa State, two young women, Lynda Rubi Binos and Peace Bassani Yohanna, have organized a training program on batik, tie, and dye skills.
The three-day training, which took place at Green House Hotel in Mayo-Belwa LGA, was sponsored by Senator Binos Yaroe, representing Adamawa Southern Senatorial District. The program aimed to equip 20 participants, selected from the 9 LGAs of the senatorial district, with the necessary skills to start their own businesses.
Lynda Rubi Binos, daughter of Senator Binos Yaroe, explained that the initiative was borne out of their desire to contribute to the empowerment of youths and women in the senatorial district. She noted that the training was designed to provide participants with both theoretical and practical knowledge of batik, tie, and dye skills.
Each participant received working materials worth N115,000, as well as accommodation, feeding, and transportation, all courtesy of Senator Binos Yaroe. Lynda emphasized that the goal was not only to train the participants but also to provide them with the necessary resources to start their own businesses.
Peace Bassani Yohanna, co-facilitator of the training, noted that batik and dyeing businesses have been thriving in other parts of the country, and they wanted to bring this opportunity to their hometown.
Senator Binos Yaroe, represented by his wife, Mrs. Gimbiya Binos Yaroe, commended the participants for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to use their newfound skills to improve their livelihoods. He urged them to share their knowledge with others and to start their own businesses.
The training program has been hailed as a success, with participants expressing their gratitude to Lynda Rubi Binos, Peace Bassani Yohanna, and Senator Binos Yaroe for empowering them with valuable skills.
