Adamawa State has climbed to the 11th position on the 2023 Nigeria Subnational Ease of Doing Business Report, up from its previous ranking of 21st.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri disclosed this while declaring open a town hall meeting organized by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Yola.

Represented by his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the Governor described the gathering as a vital platform to exchange ideas, deepen collaboration with private sector partners, development stakeholders, and civil society, and to collectively tackle the challenges hindering business growth.

The Governor reaffirmed Adamawa’s commitment to supporting the Federal Government’s agenda of fostering a more business-friendly environment across the country.

He lauded PEBEC’s role in simplifying the business climate and noted that improving the ease of doing business goes beyond economic statistics—it is about unlocking opportunities, empowering entrepreneurs, and building a shared future of prosperity.

Governor Fintiri highlighted the state government’s strides in reforming public institutions, upgrading infrastructure, building public trust, empowering youth, and ensuring an environment where businesses—large and small—can thrive.

He further pledged continued investment in peace and security, market-linking infrastructure, support for SMEs and agribusiness, as well as focus on digital and human capital development, and public-private partnerships to drive sustainable growth.

Also speaking, Dr. Bello Abubakar Song, the State Focal Person for State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER), said the meeting reviewed the successes of the SABER programme in Adamawa.

He noted that the initiative has led to significant transformations in business processes within the state and assured that the momentum would be sustained.
