Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring the state’s active participation in the upcoming 22nd National Sports Festival, scheduled to take place in Ogun State.
Speaking through the Chief of Staff, Dr. Edgar Amos Sunday, during the reception of the Unity Torch at the Government House in Yola, Governor Fintiri expressed confidence in the ability of the state’s teams to perform impressively and bring home medals.
He highlighted the importance of sports in promoting unity, discipline, and social cohesion, adding that the government has invested significantly in the completion of a new stadium along Numan Road to enhance sporting activities in the state.
The Unity Torch was presented by the Director of Athletics at the National Sports Commission, Mrs. Kiana Mbora, who said the torch’s tour was part of efforts to raise awareness about the forthcoming festival, which will hold from May 16 to 30, 2025. She praised the Adamawa State Government for its commitment and preparations toward the festival, noting the unifying power of sports across communities and nations.
