Yola — The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects for allegedly vandalizing and stealing electrical transformer cables at Wuro Dole, a key connection point for parts of Girei and Wuro Dole areas.
The arrest, which took place on February 6, 2025, followed credible information received from a reliable source.
The suspects, Rabiu Ali (28), Muhammad Musa (42), and Abubakar Usman (18), were apprehended for conspiring with three others still at large to vandalize the transformer and remove armored cables for wrongful gain.
Speaking on the arrest, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje stated that the swift action of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Girei and his team demonstrated effective policing and commitment to community safety.
He emphasized the police’s determination to pursue the fleeing suspects.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, Psc(+), commended the efforts of the Girei police and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the investigation for further action.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any unauthorized presence around electrical transformers, stressing that public cooperation is crucial in preventing similar crimes.
The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon the completion of the investigation.
