Adamawa NUJ Constitutes Electoral C’ttee – Fidelis, Abdullahi, Joy Allign For Victory

The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Adamawa state Council has constituted a 3-man electoral Committee with a mandate to conduct a credible election come June 18th 2025.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Adamawa state Council has constituted a 3-man electoral Committee with a mandate to conduct a credible election come June 18th 2025.

Those inaugurated are;Yunusa Abdullahi of Ministry of information and strategy Yola as Chairman, Gloria Abutu–FRCN Fombina FM Yola as Secretary and Hassan Umar Shallpella of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola as member.

Performing the ceremony at NUJ Press centre Yola, the Chairman of the Council Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan charged the committee to uphold the principles of NUJ constitution in discharging it’s mandate.

He warned aspirants against inflammatory statements and name-calling during the campaign, adding that NUJ election is not a do or die affair.

Dedan who described members of the 3-man electoral Committee as as Professionals emphasized the need for a smooth transition.

A veteran, Mohammed Saidu who Congratulated the credentials Committee members on their selection equally charged them on the task ahead.

Meanwhile, consultation and alignment have immediately commenced for the NUJ race in Adamawa state.
Credible sources revealed that Comrade Fidelis Jockthan of Radio Nigeria Fombina FM Yola who is also the incumbent Secretary of the NUJ is gaining grounds for the Chairmanship position while the incumbent Vice-chairman, Abdullahi Ibrahim of Adamawa Television Corporation ATV Yola has aligned with Fidelis Jockthan political dexterity to fly together and Joy Diamond Leka, the incumbent State Treasurer from Ministry of information and strategy Yola wants to maintain her position under the train.
Unconfirmed sources said, Fidelis Jockthan may pick a female Vice-chairman from Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation ABC Yola,Hadiza Aliyu Mahmud just like Governor Ahmadu Umaru did in 2023.
Other positions in Fidelis train remain cloudy according to investigations.
As Ishaka Donald Dedan, the incumbent Chairman of NUJ Adamawa state Council sets to bow out honourably on 18th June 2025,his tenure has recorded Significant changes in the union ranging from State -of -the – art -cyber Cafe, Industrial Solar borehole,Solar security lights, desktop and laptops for the Chapels, sponsorship for a bill for enhanced working condition of state owned Media workers and other patronage.
