Adamawa Labour Congress Drums Support For Fintiri’s Re-election

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Adamawa State Chapter has drummed support for the continuity of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in office, describing him as a worker friendly leader.

State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe stated this when he played host to the State Governor, Rt. Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri alongside his campaign train at the labour house to solicit for their support as he seeks reelection.

Fashe while commending Governor Fintiri for being a humble, committed and honest leader said his attributes are unprecedented and unique.

Comrade Fashe lauded the Governor for impacting positively on the workforce in the state through his policies and programs particularly with the payment of leave grant, implementation of the local government minimum wage, recruitment of teachers, workers in the primary and secondary health facilities, teachers, and 100% upgrade of CONHESS among other feats achieved.

While pledging to reciprocate the gesture by voting for the Governor come March 11, He like Oliver Twist solicited that the daily rated workers be considered for permanent employment.

On his part the State Chairman of Trade Union Congress (TUC) Comrade Dauda Adamu assured to display their comradeship come March 11 by massively voting for continuity of Governor Fintiri.

Responding, Governor Fintiri expressed satisfaction over the harmonious relationship existing between the organized labour and government pledging to redouble efforts in meeting to their demands.

The Governor remembered how he visited the labour house 4 years ago to seek for their votes which he noted has turned out to be a blessing to the state.

Haven met with the technical committee from the labour where they deliberated on the strength and weakness of the present administration, Fintiri said the need to interact with them as a mark of respect becomes necessary.

While describing the workers as backbone of the present administration, the Governor reiterated that within available resources government shall continue to prioritize their welfare.

He said he has fulfilled all the conditions given by the labour union in 2019 stating that to whom much is given much is equally expected counting on them to support his continuity.

Adamawa he said remains the only state that pays above the minimum wage promising to settle all outstanding claims of the union.

Government he said has tried to absorb the temporary workers regretting how authorities abuse the process which has thwarted the progress pledging however to find a way out.

Earlier, Chairman Political Committee of the organized labour, Comrade Vitalis Vandu said the gathering is a representation of all the workers in the state and grassroots restating their confidence in the leadership of the Governor.
