Adamawa State Government has expressed appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the prevailing improved bilateral relations with Nigeria.
The State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri stated this on Monday in Yola, when he received in audience, a delegation of the Royal Consulate of Saudi Arabia in Nigeria.
He observed that the relation between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia has been cordial, hence the need for the two countries to further strengthen it for the benefit of their citizens.
Governor Fintiri particularly thanked Saudi Arabia for its indefatigable attention to ensuring this year’s Nigerian intending Pilgrims especially those from Adamawa get their visas in good time.
The Governor represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Awwal Tukur while thanking the delegation for the visit, assured that Adamawa will continue to play its part for improved relations.
Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Malam Ahmad Idris said they were in Adamawa State to appreciate Governor Fintiri for maintaining relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Idris who doubles as the Public Relations Officer of the Consulate office in Kano said the Consul General, Khalil Ahmed Admawi has asked them to deliver gifts of fifty cartons of dates to Adamawa Government.
While thanking the state government for the warmest reception accorded the delegation, Malam Idris reveals that the Consul General of Saudi Arabia in Nigeria will soon visit Adamawa to strengthen relations.
