Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the establishment of Adamawa Digital Academy, aimed at providing digital skills training for civil servants and youths.

This move follows the state’s remarkable progress through the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms, which eliminated Right of Way charges for telecommunications companies.

According to Ahmed Hammajam, Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, E-governance, and Policy Matters, the SABER project aims to create a framework that reduces Right of Way charges to zero, attracting telecommunications companies to invest in the state and improve the ICT sector.

This development has positioned Adamawa State as a favorable investment climate, with companies like BCN Connectivity Network already on board.

Governor Fintiri has signed regulations establishing the Adamawa State Information Technology Development Agency, providing a friendly atmosphere for various sectors of the state’s economy.

Dr. Auwal Abdulahi, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of BCN Connectivity Network, praised the governor’s framework, citing it as a giant stride for the state and an enabler for digital transformation.

The Adamawa Digital Academy will utilize the Digital Bridge Institute, supported by the NCC, to achieve its goals. With this initiative, Adamawa State aims to rank among the top 10 states with the most robust digital economy in Nigeria by 2025, with aspirations to reach 5th or 3rd place.
