In a major push to improve access to quality education across Nigeria’s conflict-affected Northeast, top officials from Adamawa State are participating in the official launch of the Education Cannot Wait Multi-Year Resilience Programme Phase II (ECW-MYRP-II) in Maiduguri.

Leading the Adamawa delegation are the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB), Dr. Murtala Umar Babayi, and the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hon. Umar Garba Pella.

The high-level meeting, organized by UNICEF and hosted at Amada Hotel, brings together a broad coalition of education stakeholders to discuss strategies for implementing the next phase of the ECW programme.

The initiative is aimed at restoring and strengthening access to safe, inclusive, and quality education for children in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (BAY) states.

Present at the launch are Commissioners for Education from the BAY states, representatives from SUBEB and State Agencies for Mass Education (SAME), officials from the Federal Ministry of Education, and Mrs. Vanessa, UNICEF Nigeria’s Chief of Education.

Also in attendance are key implementing partners, including the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Save the Children International (SCI), and GHIV-Africa.

The MYRP-II launch marks a significant step forward in efforts to protect learning for children impacted by displacement, poverty, and insecurity, ensuring no child is left behind in the pursuit of education.
