The newly appointed Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigerian (CAN) Rev’d Dr. Joel Danjuma Manzo, has extolled the leadership qualities and support of First Class paramount rulers on the body of Christ in the state.
Rev’d Dr. Manzo, made the acknowledgement when he led the new CAN Executive members on a courtesy visit to the palaces of Kwandi Nunguraya HRH Kuruhaye Dishon Dansanda II. Murum Mbula, HRM Bwaltam Bently Biyapo, Hama Bata HRH Humun Gladstone Teneke and the Hama Bachama HRH Humun Daniel Shaga Ismaila.
While addressing the First Class Chiefs, Rev’d Manzo, acknowledged their support in the advancement of the body of Christ and engendering unity and peaceful coexistence in their respective domain.
He revealed that the State leadership of CAN remain indebted for their stand on issues of concern to the body of Christ and assured to sustain the cordial relationship.
He called on notable sons and daughters, politicians and all people of the respective chiefdoms to deliberately support and proactively listen to the voice and counsel of traditional rulers with undivided attention, genuine love and complete obedience towards fostering viable peace, harmony and development of their respective communities both spiritually, socioeconomically and politically.
The CAN chair commended the commitment of the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, whose efforts have addressed insecurity and restored peace and unity among divers people of the state.
In their separate responses during the state CAN visit, the paramount rulers assured the CAN Chairman and his cabinet maximum support and cooperation to succeed in their new assignment.
They maintained that as traditional rulers, their main focus is ensuring peaceful coexistence among the people irrespective of religion or ethnicity.
According to the Royal fathers, CAN remain an integral part of Christians in the state and urged the new leadership to unite the body of Christ and preach love, unity and peaceful coexistence.
They called on the new CAN Executive to unite themselves and speak with one voice while taking decisions and suggestions in the best interest of the body of Christ and the state as a whole.
They appreciated the role played by the Governor Umaru Fintiri, who worked tirelessly to ensure there is peace and unity among the people in the state.
